The program organized by the Ibadan Urban Flood Management Project at the House of Chiefs, Oyo state Government Secretariat in Ibadan, recently, was more of a secret society meeting, considering the way officials of the agency shielded the event from the prying eyes of the curious public.
Flooding is an environmental challenge that involves all and sundry, but the carefully selected invitees., indicated that there is more to hide form the public. In a democracy the people ought to know how issues concerning them are handled. This cannot be possible when same is shrouded in secrecy and mystery.
